Professional Development

PASE leads the field in offering professional development for beginners, advanced practitioners, program managers, and executive directors of afterschool agencies.

By investing in professional development, afterschool practitioners in New York City and across the country are better able to create innovative, effective programs for young people. Through these programs, youth develop their academic competencies as well as skills in such areas as technology, critical thinking, oral and written communication, career development, and acceptance of individuals from various backgrounds.

Demonstration Projects

To showcase models of quality afterschool education practice in critical thematic areas, PASE partners with leading youth agencies and experts in related fields to develop Demonstration Projects. These programs function as living laboratories, enabling agencies to explore novel approaches and showing how programs can engage and enrich young people.

Networking Events and Opportunities

As the only organization linking all of New York City’s afterschool programs, PASE plays a crucial role both in advocating for the afterschool field and in connecting youth development programs with the information and resources they need to grow, as well as with each other. To that end, PASE offers multiple networking events and opportunities throughout the year.

Publications and Resources

PASE creates and provides access to resources for the afterschool field through the production of publications and reports. Concurrently, PASE works to disseminate the latest findings in the afterschool field and provide access to other resources for youth, families and community-based organizations.
